FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A 24-year-old North Texas man with a prior drunken driving conviction and several counts of public intoxication has been sentenced to 12 years in prison on an intoxication manslaughter charge.

Seth Michael Donnelly pleaded guilty Tuesday in the October 2012 death of 71-year-old Richard Franklin Lynn. He was sentenced Thursday.

Police say Donnelly was driving about 90 mph in an effort to flee an officer in Fort Worth when he slammed into the back of Lynn’s motorcycle, killing him instantly.

Donnelly’s blood alcohol content was 0.25, three times the legal limit.
