SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) - Authorities in northern Idaho have identified the woman shot and killed by police outside a hospital.

The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office tells The Spokesman-Review (https://bit.ly/1tvpqH9) that 35-year-old Jeanetta Marie Riley died after being shot by Sandpoint police officers Tuesday night.

Police say they arrived in the area of North Third Avenue and Alder Street near Bonner General Hospital on a report of a woman with a knife.

The woman had a confrontation with the two officers, and they opened fire.

Police say Riley is a former resident of Priest River.
