PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) - A Mississippi man has been arrested in connection with a double homicide in Jefferson County.

Authorities say 21-year-old William Cody Childress was arrested Saturday in connection with Friday morning’s discovery of the bodies of 62-year-old Anthony Branch and 58-year-old Deborah Moncrief inside a Jefferson County residence.

After collecting evidence inside the residence and interviewing family members of the victims, investigators located Childress Friday evening with his fiancée, 23-year-old Jessica Moncrief, who is also Deborah Moncrief’s niece. Authorities say that following an interview, Childress led investigators to the weapon believed to have been used in the double homicide.

Childress was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder in connection with the deaths. He is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Adult Detention Center as the investigation continues.
