ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - Court documents show that a youth swimming coach intends to plead guilty to child abuse after he was accused of engaging in sex acts with a girl he had coached.

The Washington Post (https://wapo.st/1mQPG9J ) reported Tuesday that documents filed in Montgomery County court indicate that 53-year-old Christopher Huott of Fulton intends to plead guilty at a July 30 hearing. Specifically, he would admit that he abused the girl starting in 1984, when she would have been six or seven years old.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors would agree not to seek more than 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Huott coached the girl and was her baby sitter between 1984 and 1989.

Huott founded the Maryland Suburban Swim Club in Laurel.
