CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Laramie County School District 1 trustees have appointed their top human resources officer as interim superintendent.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (https://tinyurl.com/mwt8sro ) the trustees voted Monday to give John Lyttle a contract through June 30.

The district has 27 elementary schools, three junior highs and four high schools in the Cheyenne area. Enrollment is 13,000 students.

Lyttle replaces Mark Stock, who announced in May he was living to take a job at the University of Wyoming.

It wasn’t immediately clear when Lyttle would take over. Stock’s contract runs through Aug. 15.
