ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities are investigating the killing of a man a few blocks from Atlanta police headquarters.

Police say a dispute between two people began with an argument on the south edge of downtown Atlanta late Monday night.

Officers responded to the shooting on Broad Street, and found a dead man around the corner on Trinity Avenue.

Investigators say the man, who appeared to be in his 20s, was shot at least once in the chest.

Witnesses told police the man was in an altercation with another person on Broad Street when he was shot, and he collapsed around the corner.

WSB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1rdimNm) that officers brought in K-9 units to search for evidence.
