PHOENIX (AP) - Forecasters say there could be more thunderstorms in Arizona Tuesday as the Phoenix area cleans up from the second damaging monsoon storm in as many days.

A monsoon storm late Monday knocked down numerous trees in east Phoenix, leaving many fallen tree trunks and limbs in yards and on local streets. High wind also knocked down a traffic light pole at an intersection.

Power was knocked out in several neighborhoods, affecting thousands of customers.

The National Weather Service forecasts heavy rain and potential for flooding in parts of Arizona Tuesday. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop in the central and eastern mountains and then move toward the lower deserts.

A storm late Sunday caused similar damage in Phoenix-area suburbs.
