CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Cleveland say a city judge has been found dead in a downtown parking lot.

Police spokeswoman Evie West told the Chattanooga Times Free Press (https://bit.ly/1mQZznL ) Bill B. Moss had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound when officers found him Monday morning.

The medical examiner has taken the body to Knoxville for an autopsy and no further information will be released in what police are calling “an ongoing death investigation.”

Moss had served as a municipal judge since 1975.

Cleveland has announced that City Court will be suspended for two weeks because of Moss’ death.
