PRINCETON, Iowa (AP) - A woman has escaped flames and explosions of oxygen tanks at her home in eastern Iowa.

The fire was reported Monday afternoon in Princeton, a town of nearly 900 people that sits on the west bank of the Mississippi River, between Clinton and Bettendorf.

Princeton Police Chief Brian Carsten says seven or eight tanks exploded and flew out of the home’s roof. Firefighters found 10 tanks inside the house, which was all but destroyed by the fire and blasts.

The woman was taken to a hospital as a precaution. Authorities say her husband was a work when the fire broke out.

The cause is being investigated.
