BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Hopefully, the third time will be the charm in the search for a new town manager in Brattleboro, Vermont.

The town Selectboard announced Tuesday it was opening a third search for a manager, with the application deadline set at Aug. 18.

Last year, the Selectboard failed to pick a new manager out of at least 62 candidates. It later reopened its search, drawing 43 applicants.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/1bI41RH) two of the candidates received an offer from the town in the second search, but they turned it down.

Last year, Town Manager Barbara Sondag left the post to accept a job in Missouri.
