WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (AP) - A former police officer in southwestern Illinois’ Washington Park has been sentenced to probation after admitting he brought drugs into the county jail for an inmate.
The Belleville News-Democrat (https://bit.ly/1zIwh0l ) reports that 61-year-old Douglass Young pleaded guilty to a charge of official misconduct.
A judge also ordered Young to undergo drug treatment and to turn in his gun and badge.
Young was accused of taking narcotics and prescription pills into the St. Clair County lockup for a female prisoner.
Young had no previous criminal record.
