KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says it will team up with local agencies for special enforcement efforts during Kearney Cruise Nite this week.

The event draws hundreds of classic cars and thousands of people to the south-central Nebraska city. It begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday.

The special enforcement effort, titled “Drive to Save Lives”, will be conducted by the patrol, Kearney police and the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office on Friday and Saturday.

A grant of more than $9,700 from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety is helping pay for the cost of the extra enforcement.
