SEATTLE (AP) - The Seattle Mariners say they will pay tribute to the resilience of the people who live between Arlington and Darrington, as well as volunteers and first responders to the Oso mudslide.

During the July 26 game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Mariners will also hold a moment of silence for the 43 people who died in the mudslide.

The team will also hold a pregame ceremony to honor the many individuals, agencies and charitable organizations that responded to the disaster.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputy Terry Haldeman has been chosen to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. He established the first command post east of the slide and helped bring order in the first hours and days of the emergency.
