FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) - The wife of a Tennessee man bitten by a shark off Florida’s Panhandle says she’s grateful his injuries aren’t more serious.

Melissa Moore says her husband Terrell suffered a broken foot and two deep puncture wounds after being bitten Monday in the waters off Okaloosa Island.

Moore tells the Northwest Florida Daily News (https://bit.ly/1wu0ko3 ) that her husband was swimming with her and their 11-year-old son about 75 yards from shore, near two men who were fishing.

Authorities say Terrell Moore later described seeing a 4-foot-long gray shark swim away from him.

Melissa Moore says the family from Pleasant View, Tennessee, planned to finish their vacation even though her husband was on crutches and their children were worried about going back into the Gulf of Mexico.
