OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) - Oshkosh police say they have located a Missouri man who they suspect left a puppy behind a truck stop trash bin.

Oshkosh Northwestern Media reports (https://gbpg.net/1jwNViI ) that police say they spoke to the man and he admitted he left the puppy. The investigation continues and no charges have been filed.

The two-week-old puppy was found July 10 in a black plastic bag at the Planeview Truck Stop. Police say a man is seen in surveillance video walking behind the trash bin with a dark object and leaving empty-handed.

Police say they’ve received many calls with tips. They traced the man to a Missouri trucking company.

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is caring for the puppy named Hazel. She has a spinal injury and will need surgery for a broken pelvis.
