OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Two window washers were rescued by firefighters after they were left dangling from their safety lines from a six-story building in Olympia, Washington.

Firefighters were called to Capitol Terrace Apartments Thursday morning. Olympia Fire Department officials said the two window washers were believed to be from Ace Window Cleaning. Their names weren’t released.

The men were hanging from their safety lines on the back of the building, and one was bleeding from the head. Rescue crews got to the injured man through a window on the fifth floor, and additional rescuers went to the roof to make sure the safety lines would continue to hold the men and their apparently malfunctioning window washing platform. A ladder truck was brought in to retrieve the men and help them down the ladder.

One man was treated for a head laceration and brought to an area hospital. The second man was uninjured.

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries is investigating.
