CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Sporting goods store SportMart in Charleston is closing its doors after 84 years.

Media outlets report the owners couldn’t find a buyer after having the store on the market for several months, although offers will be considered. A liquidation sale is expected to begin Aug. 1.

The 30,000-square-foot store includes corporate offices and shipping and receiving departments. It was founded in 1930.

The store says it will honor uniform orders from Charleston-area schools for the fall.
