AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Ticket scalpers will have to buy a license to work football games in Auburn starting this year.

The license will cost $155, and anyone selling tickets will also have to have a photo identification badge issued by the city.

The Auburn City Council approved the new registration program on Tuesday. The action followed meetings between city leaders and Auburn University officials.

The new rules are meant to address growing concerns about fake tickets being sold to football games and traffic problems caused by ticket sellers in the streets.

Police say the law is aimed at people who sell large numbers of tickets for a high price, not fans selling an extra seat or two.
