LANDER, Wyo. (AP) - An adventure race that traverses a long and winding course across central Wyoming has begun at South Pass City.

This year’s Cameco Cowboy Tough Expedition Race takes racers into the Wind River Range, then down through Lander and Riverton.

The racers then cross through the Bridger Mountains and the badlands of Hell’s Half Acre before finishing in Casper this weekend.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/Wf4BRf ) more than 70 racers on 28 teams from the U.S. Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Canada will compete in the three-and-a-half-day race. The competitors will run, bike and paddle over the course.

This will be the second annual Cowboy Tough race and it’s put on by a company called REV3Adventure. The company describes it as one of the most challenging races in the world.
