WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) - A middle Georgia man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 10 years in a robbery.

The Telegraph of Macon reports (https://bit.ly/1rui3eR ) 24-year-old Roderick Lawson was sentenced Thursday in Houston County Superior Court.

Lawson, who already had several felony convictions, was convicted of two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, burglary and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police have said Lawson and an accomplice approached a school teacher from behind as she was replacing a window screen and ordered her inside of her home at gunpoint.

Police say Lawson and his accomplice held the woman and her two teenage children at gunpoint while robbing them of a wallet, cellphone and a video game system.
