STONEVILLE, Miss. (AP) - The Stoneville Post Office expects to be open four hours a day after Jan. 10, 2015.

The Delta Democrat Times reports (https://bit.ly/1jCly2x ) the news was announced to local residents Wednesday by district manager Jeff Harrell.

The Stoneville Post Office is now open from 6:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday hours vary.

Local Residents this year were given a survey that offered the alternative of closing the post office or reducing its hours to four a day. Harrell says 73 percent of those responding opted the reduced hours.

Harrell says the Leland post office will oversee the Stoneville post office come Jan. 10.

Harrell says the U.S. Postal Service has seen a 27 percent decline in revenue during recent years.
