CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Highway Patrol says all the new signs along Wyoming’s interstate highways showing a speed limit of 80 mph really do mean 80 mph - not even slightly higher.

A law that took effect July 1 raised the speed limit from 75 to 80 on almost 500 miles of interstate highway in Wyoming.

The Highway Patrol said Thursday many drivers are exceeding the new speed limit - and they’re pushing their luck.

Patrol Col. John Butler says the new speed limit is being strictly enforced.
