SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A boat manufacturing company is expanding in the Lowcountry, adding 150 new jobs.

Sportsman Boats, which makes saltwater fishing boats, is more than doubling its existing plant in Summerville. The company announced Friday that it is investing $3.5 million to expand its 74,000-square-foot plant by 116,000 square feet.

Sportsman now makes 10 models of boats and plans to launch several new models in the near future. The company began operations three years ago.
