SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - One of the women charged in the death of another woman who was beaten outside of an Orange County nightclub is using a cellphone video to argue she did not kick her.

The Orange County Register reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1jGsTOy) that Vanesa Zavala used the video that shows her kicking a man standing nearby to argue that she did not kick victim Annie Kim Pham.

Prosecutors say Zavala and Candace Brito kicked Pham in the head while she was on the ground during a fight. Deputy District Attorney Troy Pino said Zavala’s story was a lie used to explain the video.

Investigators say Pham died of blunt trauma to the head after being taken off life support several days after the attack that occurred in January in downtown Santa Ana.
