RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Department of Transportation is partnering with the City of Greensboro and two local universities in a campaign that focuses on pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Officials say NCDOT is joining with the city, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T; State University to help spread the Watch for Me NC campaign. It’s designed to improve enforcement of bicycle and pedestrian safety laws and educate motorists, pedestrians and cyclists on safety awareness.

The goal of the campaign is to reduce bicycle and pedestrian crashes and fatalities in North Carolina.

Greensboro will be working with the two local schools to put together a local campaign which will roll out during the fall. Other partners will be asked to support and organize the educational aspects of the campaign.
