LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles County authorities say a driver involved in a crash that killed two passengers and seriously injured two others pleaded no contest to two counts of vehicular manslaughter.

The district attorney’s office said Friday that 23-year-old Jeanette Romero also admitted allegations of great bodily injury in the plea entered late Thursday. She’s expected to be sentenced to two years and eight months in state prison.

Authorities say Romero’s car crashed on a freeway after she celebrated 22-year-old Ana Cuadra’s birthday at a downtown Los Angeles club with three other friends in November.

Cuadra and 23-year-old Blanca Belman-Almanza were killed.
