PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - State officials reopened the Oregon Coast to recreational and commercial mussel harvesting after levels of marine toxins dropped below the alert level.

The entire coast was closed to mussel harvesting June 20 because of elevated levels of paralytic shellfish toxins.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture announced the reopening Friday. The agency’s shellfish safety information hotline is (800) 448-2474.
