GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Glendale police are trying to identify a man who may be connected to the death of another man found shot in his car.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest in the killing of 72-year-old Mark Leroy Woodruff.

Authorities say a neighbor spotted an unresponsive Woodruff in the driver’s seat of his vehicle June 24 near Maryland and 45th avenues.

Officers on the scene found the victim had suffered a gunshot wound. Glendale firefighters later pronounced him dead.

Police describe the person of interest as a Native American or Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s. They say he also has a prominent scar on the back of his head.

Woodruff worked as a night custodian at a Phoenix church.
