PRATTVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Police in Prattville are seeking leads from the public after shoppers reported being robbed as they waited in line for new Air Jordan basketball shoes.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports (https://on.mgmadv.com/1mY7zTY) that the crimes happened around 3 a.m. on July 4, as the shoppers waited for the release of the new shoes at Hibbett Sports.

CrimeStoppers director Tony Garrett said the victims say a gold- or tan-colored car similar to a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry carrying four or five males drove up to where they were standing.

He said four of the suspects, who were armed with pistols, got out of the vehicle and began taking money, phones and clothes from the victims.

Garrett said the suspects then returned to the car and fled toward Interstate 65.
