ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (AP) - An eastern Tennessee parent got more than a copy of their child’s report card from the school system. The parent got personal information on all students.

Elizabethton City School Superintendent Ed Alexander told The Johnson City Press (https://bit.ly/1tZqbbx ) that an employee accidentally hit the wrong button, causing the error. Now, Alexander says, two employees must be involved in sending out confidential information.

The school system released the information on Tuesday.

Alexander says no one hacked into the school system’s computers.

The parent was emailed a computer file containing the grades, other educational records and biographical information on all students of the system.

Alexander says the parent immediately reported the mistake by email to Alexander and deleted the information.
