SEATTLE (AP) - Police say a man and an elderly woman have been found dead at a Seattle assisted living facility in what may be a murder-suicide.

In a statement, police say they were told by the man’s family Friday afternoon that he had left his home, indicating he was thinking about suicide. Relatives said in a second call that the man might be headed for his elderly mother’s assisted living facility with plans to harm her.

Police say that as officers headed to the facility, staff there checked the woman’s room and found the bodies of a man and an elderly woman.

The bodies were not immediately identified.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
