VALHALLA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say the driver of an SUV was killed overnight when the vehicle rolled over and struck a utility pole in suburban New York.

The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1mnlLl7 ) says it occurred around 4 a.m. in Valhalla.

Video footage showed the car on the lawn of a home on Locust Street.

The pole landed on the car, crushing the roof.

Authorities say the driver was a woman but her name was not immediately released.

Electricity was cut to about 100 customers. Con Edison crews were on the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
