ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - State troopers say 26 vehicles were involved in nine crashes along a 6-mile stretch of a central Florida highway.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the first crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 4 in Volusia County involved 10 vehicles. Four crashes occurred on the westbound side of the highway and five crashes occurred on the eastbound side.

Sgt. Kim Montes says most of the crashes were rear-end collisions. Some of the crashes remain under investigation.

Montes says at least three people were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
