ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - Authorities in Montgomery County say a 10-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a car while riding her bike in North Bethesda.

Officials say the girl was struck around 6:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Tuckerman Lane and Kings Riding Way.

Authorities say the girl suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington. Montgomery County Police Department Capt. David Falcinelli says the girl is in serious but stable condition.

The driver who struck the girl remained on the scene. It is unclear if she will face any charges.
