NEW ORLEANS (AP) - University in New Orleans campuses will become a tobacco-free on Aug. 1.

The move brings the university into compliance with a new state law that requires public colleges and universities to develop tobacco-free policies.

Smoking or the use of other tobacco products will be prohibited from all university buildings and anywhere on university grounds, including sidewalks, parking lots, fields, walkways and recreational areas.

The policy applies to faculty, staff, students, contractors and visitors.
