OBERLIN, La. (AP) - The Allen Parish School Board has given top marks to its superintendent.

School Board President Carolyn Manuel tells The American Press (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb) that Superintendent Michael Doucet received a rating of “excellent” in his annual performance evaluation.

Doucet is in his 15th year as superintendent of the school system.

Manuel says the evaluation commended Doucet in several areas including academic successes, budget and maintenance of schools.

She also cited academic successes, including high rankings by Allen Parish fourth- and eighth-graders on state standardized performance tests.

The parish’s graduation rate also has increased.
