SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering a free crime scene investigations camp for 11 and 12-year-olds.

The camp will be July 29-31 at the sheriff’s Safety Town facility in Shreveport.

Participants will apply investigation techniques at a mock crime scene, including collecting evidence, taking photographs and shoe impressions and learning to lift and analyze fingerprints. At the end of the camp, they will be asked to analyze the clues and produce a solution to the mock crime.

Activities are planned for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, and participants must provide their own lunch.

Pre-registration is required and can be done by calling the sheriff’s community programs office at 318-681-0875.
