MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are continuing to search for an 11-year-old swimmer who went missing near Myrtle Beach.

Police Cpl. Bishop Gibson says the boy was last seen boogie-boarding with friends at around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Gibson says the boy was pulled out about 150 feet by a rip current. Other people swimming with the boy said he went under the water and that they didn’t see him resurface.

Police have called the U.S. Coast Guard to assist with the search.
