MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - The University of Montana received a record $53.7 million in private donations in fiscal year 2014.

That is $16.3 million more than the previous record set in 2008.

The university reports nearly 13,600 individuals, businesses and foundations made gifts in fiscal year 2014. That is up from 12,775 donors in fiscal year 2013.

UM President Royce Engstrom says he’s proud of the work by the UM Foundation, faculty, staff and students, and he deeply appreciates the dedication of donors.
