MARBLEHEAD, Ohio (AP) - The Coast Guard has rescued two people and two dogs from a sinking vessel in Lake Erie.

The Coast Guard in Cleveland says a 33-foot recreational boat hit a rocky bottom on Sunday and began taking on water.

The Blade of Toledo reports (https://bit.ly/1qvKKuM) that Coast Guard crews in Marblehead and Port Clinton responded soon after and got the people and dogs off the sinking vessel.

The responders, which included a commercial salvage vessel, successfully removed water from the boat by using three pumps and towed it into a Marblehead marina.

There were no reports of injuries or signs of pollution.
