PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a 19-year-old Brockton man has drowned in a Plymouth pond.

The body of Jared Marshall was recovered from the pond at Ellis Haven Campground just after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Police received a 911 call just before 5:15 p.m. reporting that a swimmer had gone underwater and had not resurfaced.

Marshall’s family members and girlfriend who were on scene and witnessed the drowning said he had gone in the water to retrieve a float from the pond.

A spokesman for the district attorney’s office says the death is not considered suspicious but remains under investigation.
