NAPEAGUE HARBOR, N.Y. (AP) - A Long Island medical examiner is determining what caused the death of a novice kiteboarder from Brooklyn.

East Hampton police say the body of 39-year-old Nicholas Valtz was found Sunday in a grassy area of Napeague (nah-PEEG’) Harbor near Lazy Point Road. His body was still attached to his gear.

He was reported missing a few hours earlier after he failed to return to a Bridgehampton residence.
