CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The Coast Guard has rescued a sick fisherman from a boat off the South Carolina coast.

The Coast Guard says a helicopter evacuated a sick man from a commercial fishing boat 45 miles east of Bulls Bay late Sunday morning.

The Warrior III sent a distress call around 8:30 a.m. after a fisherman onboard reportedly began suffering from chest pains and stomach problems.

A helicopter took the man to Charleston, where he was taken by an ambulance for further medical treatment.
