SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Hundreds of visitors are expected in Savannah this week for a regional law enforcement conference.

The Southern States Correctional Association is hosting a summer training conference in Savannah through Wednesday and is expected to draw more than 600 visitors from across the country.

Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles Director of Training Lisa Lance said in a statement that some of the training programs focus on workers’ mental and physical health, and job readiness.

The Southern States Correctional Association is composed of more than 1,200 members from 14 states.
