AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Regents University’s college of business is launching an MBA program targeted toward students with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

University officials said in a statement Monday that the 15-month program is focused on management and commercialization of several emerging industries in the energy, biotechnology, health care and manufacturing fields.

Dean of the school’s Hull College of Business, Marc Miller, says with STEM careers being in high demand Georgia Regents University is working to prepare students to merge backgrounds in science, math, technology and engineering with business skill sets in the professional world.

Officials say the program is expected to begin this fall.
