MYTON, Utah (AP) - A weekend fire has destroyed the iconic buildings of a family-owned feed store in Duchesne County.

Authorities say the store and the silos of Ross Brothers Seed & Feed burned in the Sunday afternoon fire in Myton, but a warehouse was saved.

The business is located just east of a fire station. Myton Fire Chief Aaron Davis tells the Deseret News (https://bit.ly/1zXgKd6) that small flames were visible when volunteer firefighters reached the station, but the fire exploded in the few minutes it took crews to get dressed and roll the trucks out.

The feed store has been a town landmark for at least 70 years. Owner Troy Ross says it served as a gathering place where farmers swapped stories and advice.

One firefighter was treated for dehydration after the blaze.
