BROOKLYN, Ill. (AP) - Southern Illinois police are looking for a person of interest in connection with an early morning shooting outside a strip club.

Brooklyn Police Chief Tony Tomlinson says a man in his 20s was seriously injured after the shooting Sunday. The victim went to the Gateway Regional Hospital in Madison for surgery. Tomlinson says the Madison man is expected to live.

He says authorities believe the shooting is a result of an ongoing feud between residents in the neighboring communities of Madison, Venice and Brooklyn. He says the area has become “very dangerous.”

A Madison 17-year-old was charged last week as an adult with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old acquaintance from Venice.

Tomlinson says the person of interest drives a red pick-up truck.
