ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota teenager who’s about to become an Eagle Scout has been honored by Gov. Dennis Daugaard.

Trevor Rau has sold about $25,000 worth of Boy Scout popcorn over a 12-year period to fund his boy scout trips. The American News in Aberdeen reports (https://bit.ly/1wNUKgr ) Daugaard has proclaimed July 20 as Trevor Rau Day in honor of his accomplishments.

During his time in Boy Scouts, Rau also received three 50-mile awards for completing 50 miles biking, hiking and canoeing in one day.

On Sunday, Rau was scheduled to become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank possible in the scouts.
