ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say a 53-year-old man is accused of purposely running over a bicyclist with the man’s van following a fight.

Sgt. Ferris Simmons says Edward Gurule and 19-year-old Tiger Toya were involved in a physical altercation at a park before both left.

According to Simmons, Gurule then saw Toya riding a bike and intentionally ran over him.

Toya is hospitalized in stable condition, while Gurule was arrested. He’s accused of aggravated battery, tampering with evidence, attempting to commit a violent felony and aggravated DWI.

It’s not immediately known when Gurule has an attorney.
