LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The state is continuing its competitions for people who have business ideas and want to pitch them to potential investors.

The next competition is Wednesday afternoon in Louisville. The Cabinet for Economic Development says four teams have been chosen to pitch their businesses.

Participants are given minutes to present their ideas to people who provide capital for startup companies. Winners receive cash prizes and a chance to present their plans to the full Kentucky Angel Investors Network in Frankfort.

The cabinet launched the network last year and says it brings new ventures and accredited investors together.

Pitch competitions have already been held in Murray, Elizabethtown, Pikeville, Richmond and Ashland. Later this year, events will be held in Lexington and Covington.
